Night Tapes: Selene Lyric Video

Lyric video I directed for Night Tapes' single, Selene.

“Selene is a song about the illusion of perfection, the Moon and the subconscious. How it’s easy to project our hopes and ideals either into the future or onto our partners - all the while real-life remains imperfect, excellent and ever-changing. The line “good life, long love” was taken from a fortune cookie, the basis of this song came from Richie's dream.
A friend told me once - surfing is constant falling.“

In the days leading up to Night Tapes’ trip to Austin, Texas for SXSW, the band asked me to put together a video for their single, Selene.
After some back-and-forth chat between myself and Iiris, we settled on a version where she would record herself performing the song and I would glitch her takes with my Tachyons+ Dreamweapon.
I also reworked some VJ assets I used for their 2022 Colour Factory performance to continue the water theme they’ve been establishing in recent singles.
